Meet Jim Paterson
James Paterson is a lifelong artist and “Imagineer,” shaping ideas that begin deep in heart and imagination. Born of a Toronto childhood in the vibrant Kensington Market and a three-year sojourn in Europe, his twisted-wire creations — Prayer Machines, Play Machines, and Engines of Joy — are story-telling sculptures of swirling shapes, moving parts, and splashes of colour.
Each piece invites you into the mystery within, and a quiet, guaranteed smile. James and his wife Lynn live in Hamilton, Ontario, where he works out of his studio at the Cotton Factory.
